The western area of Darlington
Coniscliffe Road leaves the town centre heading west and becomes a broad avenue, passing through several villages on its way to Barnard Castle.
Woodland Road runs from the town centre
to the village of Cockerton then West Auckland
Road continues out of town in a north westerly direction.
Hollyhurst Road and the Memorial Hospital are to the north side of Woodland Road about half way between the town centre and Cockerton.
Stanhope Road with its park alongside is close to the western edge of the town centre.
